The N1 did not have gimbals, it used an advanced control method, known as thrust vectoring. Which means that the N1 throttled down one or several of its engines to control itself. This means that it could only suffer two engine failures before having to abort.

for my non-DLC brbs: 1. slanted tail connectors (really long 1,25m tail part) works great for the side boosters. you might have to clip some fuel, tho. 2. closed-cycle RAPIERS can achieve the look of the kodiak.

If nasa was going to make sls partially reusable, they would recover the srb's just like the space shuttle, with the core stage they would probably do something similar to vulcan with the engines having a heat shield and parachutes, with the second stage they would straight up not reuse, and if they were to reuse they would have the core stage finnish the orbit or a big second stage like a mini starship landind on the water, the orion service module wouldnt be reused, the escape tower wouldnt be reused, and the orion capsule could maybe be reused after many repairs and shield replacement

I don't know if they're intended to be used this way IRL or not but the tail fin of the orbiter and the bottom of the SRBs are level with each other on the real space shuttle, I've built mine to be similar and I haven't had any issues with it falling over without using launch clamps. I think I may have mounted my orange tank too low though, so that could be helping with keeping the center of mass low enough to not be an issue with this

I think you need to develop an abort system for Starship HLS… with engines on sides similar to Crew Dragon. No fins, no heat shield… Demo on moon… with return to Gateway space station 😂🎉
